Summary

This position, under the direction of the infection control committee, is responsible for the effective direction, management and operation of the infection prevention and control/epidemiology department, including education of hospital personnel and consultation with the organization, CDC, and the county and state health departments. The responsibilities encompass compliance with Joint Commission (JC) standards, CMS, OSHA, and state regulations, outbreak investigation, and overall direction of the infection prevention and control program.

Requires a current RN license with BSN preferred, OR Masters in Public Health (MPH), OR certified medical technologist, OR a bachelor's degree in microbiology or epidemiology. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have graduated from an AOTA accredited school of Occupational Therapy. Must possess a current Occupational Therapy license from the State of practice. Banner Registry and Travel positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting.

Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as an Occupational Therapist in the specialty area.

Responsibilities of Position: Overview: RN/OR, F/T Days with call on weekend and holidays. Medical Center's Operating Room is a 12 suite operating room (with plans to expand to 16) with a 50/50 mix of general and orthopedic surgeries being performed. By year’s end we will have provided excellent care to over 8300 patients ranging in age from 1 to 99. We are one of 2 hospitals in the valley that have the Prox table for anterior total hip replacement surgery.

 

Education Required: Qualifications: Must possess a current valid Arizona RN license or temporary Arizona RN license. Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Current BLS and ACLS certification required. CNOR/BSN preferred. Min. of 2 years exp. in an Inpatient Operating Room with experience with major Orthopedic, including Total Joint replacement, Vascular, General, Urology and Gynecology procedures. On call response time is 30 minutes or less. Experience with electronic charting.
