POSITION SUMMARY:

Representative Responsibilities: 
 

Assists in monthly close process related to landfill and environmental matters.  Prepares monthly journal entries for and performs monthly reconciliations of landfill and environmental accounts. Also assists in monthly close process for acquisitions, divestitures, legal reserves and discontinued operations.
Analyzes landfill and environmental models and communicates factors that cause such adjustments to the appropriate parties.
Works with the Environmental Department to design, test and support changes to the landfill and environmental models.
Prepares information for quarterly landfill/environmental and legal meetings.
Assists in annual external audit of the Company’s financial statements as it relates to landfills, environmental reserves, legal reserves, acquisitions, divestitures and discontinued operations.
Manages accounting and prepares non-GAAP financial statements for certain risk management companies.
Provides training and accounting guidance to field controllers and other corporate departments relating to matters involving landfills, environmental issues, acquisitions, divestitures, discontinued operations and legal reserves.
Assist in monitoring current developments of various accounting standard setting bodies and remain current on technical accounting literature to identify/assess possible changes to the Company’s accounting policies and practices as they relate to matters involving landfills, environmental issues, acquisitions, divestitures discontinued operations and legal reserves.  Examples include SEC, FASB, GAAP, Technical Bulletins and other accounting policy and practice pronouncements.
